Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TITLE 5 SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (METROLOGY) (MI 127 MXG), Position Description Number NGT5789000 and is part of the MI 127 Wing, National Guard. Duties ***THIS IS A TITLE 5 EXCEPTED NATIONAL GUARD POSITION*** This position is located at Selfridge ANG MI. The primary purpose of this position is to exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL). Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the PMEL Lab. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and PMEL objectives. Establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors. Represents the PMEL with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with (insert proper offices, officials, etc.). Provides Total Quality Service. Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with customers through personal motivation and technical competence. Creates an atmosphere of partnership with customers. Establishes a reputation of dependability. Business demeanor exemplifies professionalism. Ensures education in and compliance with security directives and good safety and health habits in all work areas. Requirements Conditions of employment Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a trial period Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. U.S. Citizenship is required. Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies. The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft/vehicle to perform temporary duty assignments. Must have a valid civilian driver’s license. Qualifications In your resume you will need to address the general and specialized experience listed below. Please use as much detail as needed, giving dates (months and years) of the experience, position title and how the experience was gained. This information is needed to determine if you are qualified for the position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. In addition to the OPM IORs, specialized experience includes experience, education, or training involving a thorough knowledge of product or range of products involved, the manufacturing methods and techniques, special processes, test, and performance requirements; and skill in developing plans and programs. Experience possessed by an expert in specialization able to give technical direction to otherwise competent workers. Experience determining operations when difficult and questionable phases of malfunctions are found. Experience which required significant and concrete work accomplishments (i.e., special projects, working groups, or detailing assignments) involving interpersonal contacts in a quality assurance or related field. Experience in dealing with management principles and supervisory responsibility for the function required by type of position to be filled and the organization involved. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. PMEL Supervisory experience is highly desired. Education No substitution of education allowed for this position.
