Summary
About the Position: This position is located at Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, CA.
A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Duties
Direct the Credentialing and Privileging Program for a Defense Health Agency (DHA) Medical Treatment Facility.
Thoroughly analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the credentialing/privileging program in meeting established goals and objectives.
Perform professional evaluation of credentialing and privileging information identifying subtle deficiencies and trends or patterns that indicate impropriety or need for adverse action.
Ensure that Credential Files for all licensed independent health care providers and Graduate Medical Education trainees, as well as Individual Professional Files for all licensed non-LIP's are maintained at the MTF and are available for review.
Provide direct supervision for personnel assigned to the Credentials Section.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with developing healthcare plans or programs, overseeing personnel and utilizing medical databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
One year trial/probationary period may be required.

Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
