Summary
This position is located at Fort Leonard Wood Aquatics located at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

Duties
Acts as water safety instructor. Manages all swimming lessons and instructs when scheduled. Develops swim program according to students' ability and promotes students to higher level of swimming according to their skills.
Instructs all levels of swimming and appropriate strokes, to include; front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly.
Introduces and instructs safety and survival skills to students, when appropriate to level of instruction. Instructors work with lifeguards to ensure that swim lessons are safe at all times.
Teach students from age groups of infant through adults.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one-year probationary period may be required.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
Satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2. to include a medical examination and Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
Incumbent must be willing and able to work varying shifts to include days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
Incumbent may be subject to additional background checks if required to have regular and recurring contact with children.
Qualifications

Work experience related to the duties described above and possession of the following certificates:
Water Safety Instructor Certification
Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
First Aid Certification
Highly desirable possession of a Lifeguard Certification
(Certificates issue by American Red Cross, Ellis @ Associates, Star Guard or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable and MUST be uploaded at time of application under Professional Certification)

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials
This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
