This National Guard position is for a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST(T32), Position Description Number D1797000 and is part of the AL 117TH Air Refueling Wing, National Guard.

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military grade in the Alabama Air National Guard. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work requiring the ability to deal effectively with others, to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts. Experience preparing clear and concise written reports. Work involves the collection, analysis, development, protection and dissemination of intelligence information which directly or indirectly affects the national security
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year equivalent to at least GS-9 level. Experience, education or training developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others. Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: At the GS-11 level, the employee is required to possess a thorough knowledge of his/her subject matter along with a working knowledge of conference, briefing and interpretive techniques. The GS-11 level intelligence operations specialist must also maintain a complete knowledge of collection and dissemination techniques and sources as well as the ability to produce instructions and manuals with a minimum of direction. To ensure a successful mission, the incumbent of this position is required to maintain a thorough knowledge of all aspects of his/her intelligence specialty area. The incumbent independently evaluates and interprets raw intelligence data and prepares post-mission reports based on the analysis of patterns, trends, and characteristics. This matches the GS-11 level as described in the standard where the GS-11 specialist analyzes and evaluates raw data in his/her functional area in order to produce finished intelligence reports under general supervision.
Education
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
