This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Located in central New Jersey, Burlington County. Fort Dix is within driving distance of a variety of leisure activities.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
Will occasionally be required to work irregular shifts (days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays) and overtime.
This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant and random drug testing.
Position is designated as emergency essential for mobilization.
Pre-employment and annual physical examinations are required.
One year probationary period may be required.
This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Range Support Worker~ without more than normal supervision. - Ability to perform common target systems repair duties. I can perform electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above.
Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision
Physical Effort: Lifts and carries equipment up to 50 lbs. Frequently lifts target mechanisms with other large range components up to 100 pounds with assistance. Work involves prolonged standing, bending, stooping, reaching and working in cramped spaces.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in both an inside shop and outside on the ranges. Exposed to the prevailing weather conditions; hot & humid and cold & damp. Subject to injury from working with hand and power tools. Possibility of electrical shock when working with electrical systems. Exposed to dangers of live fire ranges, high voltage, and wild animals. May be exposed to sulfuric acid when handling batteries.
