Civilian Pay Technician (NAF) NF-03

Summary This position is located at Defense Finance and Accounting Service- Texarkana. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Duties On a computer-based system, establishes and maintains individual time, leave, and earnings records of approximately 3000 salaried and hourly non-appropriated fund employees, civilian and military plus seasonal hires Examines and verifies all pay action documents for accuracy, authority, completeness and conformance with regulatory and statutory requirements. Computations involve determination of pay due for differing pay schedules, entitlements, shiftwork, overtime, holiday pay, premium gratuities and their effect on other items in the account. Balances output reports to appropriate source documents on a pay period, quarterly, and annual basis. Input payroll data from a variety of source documents into a computerized payroll system, which requires a knowledge of a variety of coding structures to process the various pay interrelationships involved. Requirements Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. NON-US CITIZENS WILL NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN THE REQUIRED ANACI (SECRET) INVESTIGATION, THEREFORE, WILL BE UNABLE TO QUALIFY UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT. Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3 to include a Tier 3 background investigation. PER AR 380-67, NON-US CITIZENS WILL NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN THE REQUIRED T3 (SECRET) INVESTIGATION, THEREFORE, WILL BE UNABLE TO QUALIFY UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must have semi-independent work experience, which includes the processing of a large payroll using an automated system. Demonstrated ability to perform the duties as described above. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. Ability to type 40 words a minute. Ability to operate calculator. Experiences must be reflected on Resume to receive credit. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Allowances and Differentials This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
