Summary
This position is located at Outdoor Recreation.
Incentives and Bonuses
Incentives will not be paid.
Duties
Plans, schedules, organizes and implements outdoor activities such as: cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, trips, skeet shooting, parks, ranges, mountain climbing and overnight recreational trips.
Demonstrates techniques and instructs participants in the use of equipment.
Coordinates with installation, county, and state officials on programs and information related to outdoor recreation and required licenses.
Researches, plans and develops or enlarges outdoor recreation areas. Prepares standard operating procedures.
May assist in the preparation and development of the annual operating budget and 5- year plan.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups. This experience may be in, but is not limited to, one or more of the following recreational activities: cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, trips, skeet shooting, parks, ranges, mountain-climbing and overnight recreational trips. Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
A professional certification or experience leading groups in outdoor recreation activities such as climbing, kayaking, canoeing, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, archery, paintball, cycling or bicycle maintenance. Please upload a copy of your professional certificate with you application.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Class 2 or 3 license (B, BE, D or DE) to drive vehicles and vehicles with trailers.

Allowances and Differentials
This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), incentives and differentials will not be paid, with the exception of post allowance, contingent upon eligibility.
