Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a ATTORNEY-ADVISER (GENERAL). The position is located in the Joint Force Headquarters - Virgin Island (JFHQ-VI), Office of the Staff Judge Advocate (SJA).

Conditions of Employment
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
Must either be currently in good standing (certified) with a State Bar or able to obtain certification. Must be a graduate of an ABA-accredited law school.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience time requirements 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. This specialized experience time requirement applies to both one- and two-grade interval work.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: The attorney shall have professional legal experience in excess of 2 years that is commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position.Experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources. Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.
