Summary The FBI's Information Technology Infrastructure Division (ITID) is seeking a highly qualified Senior Audio-Visual Engineer to maintain secure, reliable, and state-of-the-art audiovisual engineering solutions. Duties Responsible for delivering on the FBI's secure communications vision by leading all efforts related to planning, engineering, stakeholder management, policy interpretation and development, oversight, compliance, accountability, metric development, documentation and reporting for diverse communication services that include (but are not limited to) all classification levels of Voice and Video, Telephony, Media, Entertainment, and interactive services. Serves as the FBI Expert in all matters relating to Communication Services and related systems for the FBI and provide Telephony, IT and Information Systems (IS) Expertise to Executive Management and Senior Leadership. Establishes the FBI's standard for Communication technical architectures, data architecture management, setting information standards, and setting standards for software design and development, software and hardware configuration management, IT acquisition management, and testing and operation evaluation of IT equipment, and telecommunications networks.Initiates and supports research and development of new communication concepts, technologies, and applications for both strategic and tactical FBI environments. Provides monthly updates to Executive Management on progress, challenges, and impact of Communication Services enhancements by developing briefs, draft White Paper(s), cost models and other materials. Provides oversight for continuous technological advancement and innovation in all Communication and IT areas formulating and/or defending the information technology budget. Sets the FBI technical direction for Communication Services systems, developing technical policy and managing the implementation of technical policies. Provides expert advice and consultation on and resolves unusually complex problems associated with major programs to include system development, systems design, standardization, and integration of current, and next generation for Communication Services. Requirements Conditions of employment Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be able to obtain a Top-Secret clearance. Qualifications GS-15: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-14 grade level. SE is defined as follows: Experience in enterprise engineering, IT management and operations, system integration, hardware and software development, and sustainment sufficient to organize the research and development of technical standards and solutions that promote the insertion of new communication technologies in an effective manner across the Bureau. Experience with IT theories, principles, concepts, standards and practices sufficient to serve as a senior expert and consultant to top agency management officials to advise on integrating communication systems with other programs of equivalent scope and complexity. Experience with enterprise telecommunication systems, sustaining base and tactical arenas, and related functional activities to considering the technical and system architecture, interoperability, interfaces, protocols, networking, expansion potential, end-to-end compatibility, standardization, and emerging information technologies into the Enterprise Infrastructure. Education There are no educational requirements at this level. Additional information If you are selected, you will be required to serve a two-year probationary period. Probationary employees are precluded from being considered for all job opportunities until 12-months of their 24-month probationary period has concluded.
