Summary Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the DoD in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information. Duties At the Full Performance Level, a Human Resources Assistant (INS) may perform the following duties involving providing support to one or more HR functional areas. Duties assigned to the entry level (GS-04) will be developmental in nature. Processes a variety of personnel actions including promotions, separations, benefits elections, pay related adjustments and changes in employee data. Updates, verifies and extracts data from automated systems using automated reporting applications in accordance with documented processes; determines the need for corrections and makes changes as necessary. Receives and answers telephonic, automated and written inquiries from staff and current/former employees regarding position records, training history, benefits information and other related data involving HR operations. Provides a wide range of information concerning all aspects of the Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB), and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) Program to employees concerning eligibility, enrollment, and basic features.
