Summary This position is with the Small Business Administration, Office of Field Operations - Region IX in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Outreach and Marketing Specialist works with assigned groups, organizations and partners whose constituents and/or members may benefit from the use of Small Business Administration (SBA) programs and services. Qualifications GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service) obtained in either the public or private sector, which includes: 1) Assisting in the development of marketing strategies for programs and services for growth and development of a customer base; AND 2) Delivering outreach, training, presentations and education on a variety of business management, financial management or lending topics related to small business; AND 3) Managing collaborative alliances and partnerships with a variety of business developmen partners. These qualifications must be clearly referenced in your resume. OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be 18 semester hours OR the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. You must submit transcripts (official or unofficial) to support this option. If selected, official transcripts will be required. OR Combination: Combination of the described graduate education and specialized experience as specified above. For example, an applicant who has 1.5 full years of Ph.D. level education (i.e. 50% of education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on 01/02/2025. Education If you do not meet the specialized experience requirements, you may also qualify with education.
