Duties Serves as the Material Management Cell Chief and represents DLA Aviation as supply chain manager at a DLA Aviation industrial site Responsible for all actions, activities and coordination performed by the Cell to provide effective/efficient material management support for assigned fleet readiness center production lines/groups Maintains cross-agency relationships and monitors cross-agency sources of supply to ensure assets are available for issue when required and to alleviate work stoppages Conducts, initiates, or participates in studies, projects and/or surveys of material management operations to determine required improvements for supported commodities and/or weapons systems Develops and implements/recommends new approaches to solve problems and modifies/improves material management business processes within the Cellโ€™s scope of responsibility. Supervisory Probation: Required Completion of Supervisory Certification Program: Required Qualifications To qualify for a Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Experience with established production methods and material requirements for the support/repair/ modification of a variety of aircraft, engines, and related end items. Experience performing Order Fulfillment processes and applications relative to supportability Experience supervising/managing and leading the work of material management Experience with various supply and production management automated systems/products and their interrelationships to order fulfillment Experience in retail supply functions Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. Drug-Free Workplace Policy The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace. All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty. DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing. ADVISORY: Use of cannabidiol (CBD) products may result in a positive drug test for marijuana. DLA employees are subject to Federal law and under Federal law, Marijuana is a Schedule I drug and is illegal.
