Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Certain Competitive Service / Modified Direct Hire Authority. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or Top Secret/SCI final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing. Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101 You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment. Qualifications In addition to the Basic Educational Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating technical work in accessioning, arranging, describing, preserving, using, and disposing of archives, non-current record, and related material kept in record and manuscript depositories. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following duties: 1) Performing professional archival functions by researching historical information to determine archival value; 2) Appraising the evidential or information values of records to determine disposal or provide access to records; 3) Training personnel in the duties relating to the disclosure, including review, redaction and dissemination of archival records; 4) Providing reference and research service to meet official needs. 5) Supervising or leading others in archival duties. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess the following: 1. Bachelor's degree in archival science or bachelor's degree with a major that includes 18 semester hours in archival science, history and/or in political science or government, and 12 semester hours in one or any combination of the following: archival science, history, American civilization, economics, political science, public administration, or government. OR 2. Combination of education and experience - at least 30 semester hours that included courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. A transcript must be submitted with your application. Additional information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
