Summary
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties
You will maintain and repair installed electrical systems such as lighting fixtures and wiring, power fixtures and wiring, power sources, and/or services battery packs for emergency power systems.
You will locate broken, worn, damaged, or poorly operating wiring, fixtures, controls, and equipment through visual checks or through use of a small variety of test equipment.
You will make repairs by removing, replacing, tightening, splicing, soldering, and insulating defective wiring, controls, equipment, and fixtures.
You will plan tasks and determine appropriate steps and actions necessary to complete tasks.
You will adhere to the National Electrical Code.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

May be exposed to temperature extremes, extremely high noise levels while working on or around the runway and taxiways, and exposure to lead, chemicals, or carcinogens.
Frequently lifts parts and equipment that weigh up to 40 pounds and occasionally lifts items that weigh over 60 pounds with assistance from other workers.
You will be required to possess a current valid United States driverβs license prior to appointment.
Must be respirator and confined space trained within 6 months of appointment.
This position requires the employee to have the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision; Ability to perform installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems, controls, and equipment without more than normal supervision.

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
The employee is required to perform callback overtime.
Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
