Recreation Aid (Lifeguard) NF-01

Summary This position is located at Fort Riley Aquatics. This is an open continuous announcement. All qualified applicants will be forwarded to management on a weekly or as needed basis. This is an Intermittent (flexible) position with scheduled hours between 0-39 hours per week. A one year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period. Lifeguards must have good vision (corrected vision if necessary) while on duty to effectively recognize all emergencies, incidents and rule breaking. Incumbent is required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment. May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements. Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty. All required certifications must be kept current. Must be willing to complete a physical exam. Qualifications Possesses and maintains the following certifications: 1. Lifeguard and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Start Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS). 2. American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional; CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED); First Aid. Please upload certification at the time of application. Will accept proof of enrollment in Fort Riley Lifeguard Certification courses in lieu of certificates. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
