Recreation Assistant - Liberty

Summary Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is located at the Liberty Center at NAS Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, WA. This position may require the incumbent to be available to work special events, weekends and holidays. A valid state driver’s license and High School Diploma or equivalent. This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, stooping, walking, pushing, reaching, climbing and lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted. Must be able to obtain and maintain food handler’s certification, CPR and First Aid within 90 days of hire. Qualifications Must have one-year practical work experience including direct customer service or experience with data entry, word processing, internet, e-mail, etc. At least one-year experience handling cash and utilizing point of sale system. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and communicate effectively and courtesy, using proper English both verbally and in writing. Must be able to follow verbal and written directions, and present a neat and clean appearance. Education A minimum of high-school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. Additional information Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
