Recreation Assistant (Outdoor Recreation)

Summary This position will be assigned to the Eagles Rest RV Park in Valdez, AK. The primary purpose of this position is to perform and/or assist other recreation assistants or the Outdoor Recreation manager in the operation and maintenance of the Eagles Rest RV Park. Typical work schedule for this position will be 40 hours per week. This a temporary position; appointment is not to exceed 09/30/2025. APPLICATIONS WILL BE PULLED ON THURSDAYS AT 8:00AM UNTIL POSITION IS FILLED. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical. This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing. Most possess or be able to obtain a valid state motor vehicle license. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Experience demonstrating a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs. Practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules, and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned. Ability and skill in dealing with the public. Must have cash handling experience. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement..
