Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Duties Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures. Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses, and silverware. Loads and operate dishwashers. Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments, and cold menu items such as salads, desserts, bread, and cold beverages on a serving line or tables. Removes dishes and trays from tables after meals. Washes tables and counters. Prepares food by sorting, washing, peeling, and cutting fresh fruit and vegetables. Stores cleaned dishes, glasses and silverware. Operates, break downs, and cleans all equipment assigned to the area for food preparation. Clean kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks and refrigerators. Vacuums and shampoos carpets; sweeps and mops kitchen floors. Cleans windows and washes walls. Cleans and sanitizes trash cans; disposes of trash. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a medical examination. Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities. Work is usually performed indoors in areas that have adequate light and ventilation. There is a danger of slipping on floors where food or beverages have been dropped. Exposed to hot liquids, sharp cutting blades, and hot working surfaces, and extreme temperature changes when entering walk-in refrigerators or freezing units. Light to moderate physical effort is required. Lifts and moves items weighing up to 20 pounds. Subject to continuous standing and walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending. Physical is required. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). A qualified candidate must possess the following: Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and do simple tasks that are easy to learn. Allowances and Differentials This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
