Job Description
Discovery Education is looking for a Manager, Education Partnerships for the Midwest region to join our Pivot Interactives Education Partnerships team.
Pivot Interactives is an award-winning platform that supports teachers by making it simple for them to integrate active, phenomena-based learning for science. Pivot creates content in Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Earth & Space Science, Environmental Science, & Physics. Its collection of over 500 interactive videos & labs features real science phenomena with embedded lessons & questions for busy teachers that want their students to think critically about, experience, & actively learn true science.
This is a hybrid, consultative and relationship sales role in which you will work from your home office with travel potential up to 20% of your time.
As a Manager, Education Partnerships you will be responsible for new sales and account management in the Midwest Territory and will work with your Manager, Sales Director, and team to meet and exceed annual sales quotas.
What You Will Do
- Create and open opportunities with new schools and districts via prospecting and other business development activities.
- Using a consultative sales approach, build, maintain & strengthen relationships with science teachers and all key decision makers and key influences within territory.
- Proactively manage your territory and document and share partner information and your activity in Salesforce and other internal tools and present both to our sales leaders.
- Negotiate proposals and contracts that ensure profitable growth aligned with Pivot and Discovery Education business objectives.
- Manage high outbound activity volume.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, competitors, products and industry trends and speak to the impact each will have on our partners and Discovery Education.
- Develop and demonstrate your exceptional Pivot Interactive product knowledge and differentiate Pivot from our competitors.
- Work & collaborate with colleagues across Discovery Education, including VP of Sales, Sales Directors, Legal, Finance and marketing.
- Ensure successful integration and implementation of our product and services while working hand in hand with our Partner Engagement and other post-sales teams.
- Create and implement cross-selling strategies so that your partners harness the full power and value of Discovery Education products and services.
- Communicate territory and pipeline updates with regular cadence to management team.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of EdTech or education sales and account management experience with a proven track record of territory management, consultative sales and exceptional client relations.
- Demonstrable track record of revenue goal/quota achievement.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
- Attention to detail along with the ability to manage a diverse workload.
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of skills, training and experience.
- Background as a science administrator or teacher is a plus.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
