About the Role (your why)

We have an exciting role supporting our wider Products Services Team as an Account Manager.

Your role will be to support the team in maximising service and revenue from current customers and focus on delivering new business growth and exceeding gross margin targets by developing long term relationship, working with the appropriate internal teams and building alliances with key partners. This role is required to ensure complete customer satisfaction building good relationships with existing and new customers.

This role will be based out of Datacom’s Townsville office, which has been operating for over 15 years with sales, service and engineering staff employed full time.

What you’ll do

At the moment, as Account Manager you will be focused on:

  • Identifying volume and strategic customers and develops partnerships
  • Representing the interests of Datacom in the sale of Products, managed services, project services, maintenance, software and other solutions
  • Acting as the main interface between the client and the organisation to ensure an optimal level of service is always provided and continually seek the opportunity to participate in clients' strategic business planning processes.
  • Planning and managing your accounts according to an agreed market development strategy
  • Developing and implementing customer and prospect account plans that will result in sales of Datacom products and services at agreed prices and terms
  • Supporting the team in conducting product demonstrations (where applicable) and coordinating the preparation of sales proposals, tenders/bids, contracts and Account Management plans.

What you’ll bring

Required experience:

  • Experience achieving or exceeding budgeted sales and profit objectives.
  • Excellent customer relationship building and management skills.
  • Strong influencing and persuasive ability.
  • Effective presentation skills with the ability to convey technical information across various levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong consultative and planning skills.
  • Ability to frequently interact with a variety of stakeholders and team members.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of the Outsourced IT services market and Infrastructure project requirements.
  • Knowledge of finance management practices with a clear understanding of the relationship between costs, utilisation and project revenue.
