“Applying Light to Life”- At USHIO, we develop and manufacture advanced specialty lighting technologies—from ultraviolet (UV) to visible and infrared (IR). Our solutions support a wide range of applications, including semiconductor manufacturing and photochemical research.
Job Summary:
To better align with the industries served by our specific UV-based technologies, we’ve recently opened a new branch strategically located in Arizona, a region with high concentrations of semiconductor and photochemical research activity. This team is focused on expanding our presence in these fields.
We’re looking for a hands-on Account Manager (Sales & Marketing) to help drive our growth in industries such as semiconductors and advanced research. This role combines account management with proactive market development. You’ll be engaging with key technical customers—major semiconductor fabs, IDMs, OSATs, and universities—while collaborating closely with engineering and internal teams in Japan.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in early-stage environments, where not everything is defined, and there’s room to contribute, build, and shape the way we do business in a specialized market.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute sales and marketing plans tailored to industry needs
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with technical stakeholders
• Identify and explore new business opportunities through research and outreach
• Orchestrate collaboration with teams in Japan (engineering, etc.)
• Coordinate customer-facing documents (e.g., NDAs) with legal support
• Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and delivery planning
• Work with field engineers to support post-sales customer issues
• Prepare reports, meeting summaries, and follow-up action plans
• Coordinate with Japan HQ, occasionally outside standard U.S. hours due to time zones
• Travel across the U.S./Canada and internationally
Ideal Candidate:
• Curious and proactive, with a strong interest in one or more of the following: light-based technology, semiconductor industry, photo-chemical reaction, equipment industry.
• Comfortable working in a small and evolving team (currently 4 members)
• Experience in B2B sales or marketing (preferably in technical fields)
• Skilled in managing cross-cultural, cross-functional collaboration
• Willing to take initiative and build structure where needed
• Enjoys the challenge of developing business in a specialized industry
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical)
• Ability to understand technical drawings and documentation
• Business-level English
• Flexible availability for international communication and coordination
• Eligible to work in the U.S.
Nice to have:
• Japanese language skills are a plus
• Experience in semiconductor or equipment-related industries is a plus

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
