Job Description
MGR Accounting Recruiters, a Teamshares Network company, is searching for an Accountant for a client in Schenectady.
Job Summary:Â
MGR is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting while adhering to company policies and procedures.Â

Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of accounts payable, including processing invoices, verifying expenses, and issuing payments.Â
- Oversee accounts receivable functions, including invoicing clients, recording payments, and following up on overdue accounts.Â
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.Â
- Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, including calculating hours, deductions, and taxes.Â
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.Â
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are properly recorded and categorized.Â
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or trends that may require attention.Â
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support strategic financial planning.Â
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and accounting standards.Â
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide financial information and support decision-making processes.Â
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.Â
- Proven experience as an Accountant, Full Charge Bookkeeper, or similar role, with a minimum of 2 years in accounting or finance.Â
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Xero, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP.Â
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.Â
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.Â
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
