JOB OVERVIEW
The Accountant is critical in managing and analyzing the company’s financial data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This position involves preparing financial statements, managing general ledger activities, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes. The accountant ensures that all financial transactions comply with local, state, and federal regulations while identifying areas for cost control and process improvements.
· Conduct daily review of company DSR’s
· Prepare preliminary Monthly financial statements within 10 days of the end of the month.
· Prepare Monthly Statements of Cash Flow no later than the 20th of each month
· Prepare Weekly Flash Reports every Wednesday
·Prepare daily deposit logs and reconcile bank accounts
· Maintain and reconcile the general ledger by accurately verifying, recording, and categorizing transactions.Process the month end Financial close process
· Monitor journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure data integrity and compliance
· Manage AP and AR invoicing, payment processing, and strong collections background.
· Ensure all entries are recorded accurately in the accounting system and resolve discrepancies promptly.
· Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with customers to maintain healthy cash flow
· Track and analyze variances between actual results and budgeted amounts to identify trends and areas for improvement.
· Address any audit findings promptly and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
· Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies to improve financial operations.
· Partner with Controller on complex situations
· Ensures accounting compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, directives, and policies
· Performs other duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
· 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality and restaurants sector.
· Experience in high-volume operations, preferably in the restaurant/hospitality industry
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Exemplary organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines
· Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance standards
· Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Restaurant 365 systems) and advanced Excel skills
