Accountant, General Accounting - YESS Finance - National Office (Remote)

Job Description TheAccountant, General Accounting - YESS Financeis responsible for providing support for general accounting, completion of the close, and ensuring that the general ledger account balances and trial balances and supporting schedules are accurate. Qualifications • Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance • Minimum of 2 years of general accounting experience • Understanding of the end-to-end Record to Report process • Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles • Flexible to new ideas and ways of accomplishing tasks • Functional knowledge of the general accounting process • Highly organized • Ability to meet strict deadlines • Ability to work in a team environment • Commitment to the YMCA character development values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility is required Essential Functions • Complete assigned general accounting tasks in the production and delivery of timely and accurate GAAP financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for assigned YMCA clients • Prepare, code and record entries and transactions in the production of financial statements and reports • Review trial balance for accuracy and reasonableness and reconcile/analyze all assigned general ledger accounts • Collect and/or prepare appropriate supporting documents for all accounting entries and activity • Provide audit support specific to general accounting as assigned • Prepare government and grant reports, support, and invoices as assigned • Maintain files, work papers, and reconciliations for assigned client YMCA in a manner consistent with current YESS • Finance/Accounting standards, making those documents available for association review • Respond to information requests as required • Perform other duties as assigned
