Accountant - Sr.

Job Description

The Sr. Accountant will perform hands-on accounting functions, support audit processes, perform financial analysis, reconciliations and will have duties related to month end and year end close processes. The position will report to the Controller.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Verify posted transactions to the general ledger for accuracy.
• Actively participates in the month end closing procedures and prepare month end journal entries.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliation monthly.
• Perform income statement account analysis for multiple departments monthly.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
• Actively participates in the audit procedures and provides the necessary support and documentation as requested by the auditors.
• Adhere to internal controls requirements and provide documentation required for SOX compliance.
• Continuously assess accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and implementing best practice.
• Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, or a bachelor's degree in business with emphasis in accounting, is required.
• Must be organized, detail-oriented, and exhibit strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must have strong intrapersonal and teamwork skills.
• Must be proficient in MS office application skills (Word, Excel, Power Point) including Outlook.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects and adhere to tight deadlines effectively.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting is required.
