Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with knowledge in non-profit accounting. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with technical accounting standards. The Accountant will play a key role in grant fiscal compliance and financial auditing, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. Responsibilities • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. • Review monthly expense reports from funded subrecipients for accuracy and allowability of expenses. • Provide financial technical assistance on an as needed basis to all funded subrecipients agencies. • Assist in payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation. • Perform financial audits to verify compliance with regulations and internal policies. • Utilize CYMA and excel spreadsheets for effective financial management and reporting. • Process monthly reimbursement vouchers • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting efforts. • Assist in preparing financial reports and spending updates for funding sources. • Maintain organized financial records and documentation for easy retrieval during audits or reviews. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. • Proven experience in financial services or nonprofit accounting is highly desirable. • Strong understanding of technical accounting principles and practices. • Proficiency in software applications. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform analysis effectively. • Experience in payroll processing is a plus. • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative mindset.
