Accounting Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounting Analyst is responsible for supporting key accounting duties throughout the month including, but not limited to, month end closing accruals and journal entries, financial reporting for internal and external sources, financial audit activity, preparation of the annual budget and business plan, and ad hoc analysis requests.

This position is a key role in the Accounting department that provides support to the Jindal Films Americas and Jindal Films India accounting teams.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform month end closing activities such as Fixed Asset Depreciation, Accrual Preparation and Journal Entries, GL Account Variance Analysis, and Budget vs. Actual Analysis

• Perform monthly business cost analysis, including tracking and analyzing monthly spending. Identify potential areas for cost reduction, productivity optimization and efficiency.

• Report key monthly business metrics.

• Review company policies and procedures for updates and additions based on management direction.

• Assist with annual and quarterly tax payments and filings, ensure all documentation filed timely and completely.

• Assist with annual financial audit, and quarterly review audits to include preparing supporting documentation and answering auditor questions.

• Assist with annual business plan and budget preparation.

• Complete credit applications and supplier setup requests.

• Support departmental and management ad hoc reporting needs.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting

• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles to ensure that financial results are in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

• Understanding of accrual and cost accounting

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to multi task

• Good interpersonal relationships and communication skills

• Ability to work independently

• Process oriented

• Experience with SAP preferred
