Description
Job Summary: The Accounting Manager at Intellum will be a key player in managing the day-to-day financial operations and will report directly to the Controller. This role involves overseeing critical financial processes such as the General Ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. The successful candidate will lead a team of accounting staff members, collaborating closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the General Ledger in QuickBooks Online.
- Oversee accounts receivable, collections, and revenue processes.
- Review customer sales records and ensure accuracy in Maxio.
- Approve day-to-day accounts payable processes through Bill.com.
- Manage company bank accounts and wire transfer activity.
- Record company payroll and tax obligations.
- Prepare journal entries in QuickBooks for month-end close, including revenue entries.
- Generate monthly financial statements and report key operating issues to the Controller.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in providing files and preparing reports for annual income tax preparation and R&D credit study.
- Coordinate or participate in other projects as directed.
- Contribute to process improvements, including monthly reporting and daily processes.
Requirements
Required Skills: The successful candidate will:
- 10+ years of relevant finance and accounting (manager/supervisor) experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
- QuickBooks experience
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Possess the ability to interface with all levels of staff in a professional manner
- Maintain confidentiality and be a persuasive communicator
- Be a self-starter and a strong team player with a positive "can-do" attitude
- Exhibit strong organizational, project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Function independently, multi-task, and realign priorities as needed
- Have an excellent understanding of GAAP, including software revenue recognition
Preferred Professional Experience:
- CPA license
- SaaS Optics experience
- SaaS Work Environment strongly
