Accounting Manager
Summary of the Role               Â
Chartbeat and Tubular are two of the most impactful products in media today, offering unparalleled access to content insights for 1,000 media companies including the New York Times, Disney, and the BBC. Our products give insight to media leaders on how their content is being consumed across websites, apps, YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Accounting Manager/Controller to join our dynamic team and help us in-source the monthly accounting duties currently performed by an external services firm. As the Accounting Manager you will work closely with the Controller and Head of Finance both of whom report to the CFO. The team additionally consists of an A/P Manager and an A/R Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and leading the monthly closing cycle.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly closing process.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assist in the coordination of audits and other financial reviews.
- Responsible for monthly and quarterly sales tax filings
- Perform variance analyses of account balances to identify matters requiring research
- Supervise the work of staff accountant role
- Continuously look for ways to improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work (and based) in the United States
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 7+ years of experience in accounting/finance
- At least 3 years of experience in an Accounting Manager roleÂ
- SaaS industry experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
- Experience accounting for/reconciling deferred revenue and payroll.
- Highly proficient using NetSuite
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ideally, would have experience using Bill.com and Expensify
- Prefer candidates with experience using Floqast or other similar tool to help manage the closing process
