Accounting Manager

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial management, with expertise in learning accounting software and principles. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can oversee financial reporting, ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations while supporting the overall strategic objectives of the organization. Responsibilities • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements. • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account reconciliations, and journal entries. • Prepare regulatory reports and ensure compliance with SOX, securities law, and other relevant regulations. • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis to support financial planning. • Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. • Perform auditing functions to maintain accuracy in financial records. • Utilize current accounting software for efficient financial management. • Provide insights through financial report writing and interpretation to guide decision-making processes. • Ensure adherence to accrual accounting principles and perform technical accounting tasks as needed. Experience • Proven experience in accounting or public accounting roles is essential. • Familiarity with non-profit accounting and school practices is a plus. • Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, financial analysis, and general ledger accounting. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes. • Experience with tax regulations and payroll processing is advantageous. • An understanding of private equity principles and governmental accounting practices is preferred. • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
