Accounting Manager

A mission-driven organization in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations, ensure GAAP compliance, and support an efficient month-end and year-end close process. This role supervises Accounts Payable and Pledge Management functions and reports directly to the Controller. Key Responsibilities: • Lead timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings, maintaining and reconciling the general ledger. • Supervise invoice processing, payments, and 1099 reporting for compliance with IRS regulations. • Provide backup coverage for payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal policies. • Conduct detailed account reviews, reconciliations, and analyses to identify and resolve discrepancies. • Oversee recording of revenue and expenses from donor management systems, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 standards. • Review and ensure accuracy of monthly and quarterly financial statements prepared in accordance with GAAP. • Prepare audit schedules, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure compliance with all accounting standards and regulations.
