Accounting Manager

Job Title:Accounting Manager Type of Role:Direct Hire Shift / Hours:8am - 5pm Location:San Antonio, TX Salary Range:$70K - $90K Primary Responsibilities: • Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, reconciliations, and month-end close. • Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP and company policy. • Support the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes by providing financial data and analysis to senior leadership. • Ensure compliance with all internal controls, regulatory requirements, and company accounting procedures. • Maintain and improve reporting tools and models using Microsoft Excel; create complex spreadsheets to support financial decision-making. • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, HR, and leadership to align financial planning with business strategy. • Use and support financial systems including ADP Workforce Now and Oracle JD Edwards (JDE) to process, track, and report financial data. • Supervise or mentor junior accounting staff (if applicable) and help implement process improvements and best practices. Skills and Experience: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required). • 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management roles. • Strong understanding of GAAP, budgeting principles, and financial reporting. • Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, lookups, macros, and data modeling). • Experience with ADP payroll systems and Oracle JD Edwards (JDE) financial software. • Excellent organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail. • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. • Prior experience in logistics, distribution, or multi-location businesses is a plus.
