Accounting Manager (McLeod TMS Proficient)

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and for-profit accounting, along with a proven track record in financial management. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills and the ability to manage a team effectively. Duties • Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting. • Follow and incorporate customer processes for approval and billing of transportation accessorial charges. • Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. • Conduct account reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting through double-entry bookkeeping. • Provide technical accounting guidance and support for complex transactions. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making. • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for effective financial management. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial concepts and industry trends to enhance the organization's financial practices. • Backend customer set-up and support Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. • Extensive experience in corporate accounting with an emphasis on transportation • McLeod TMS proficiency • Understanding of transportation accessorial charges and billing requirements • Experienced in cash management, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation. • Strong understanding of financial report writing and regulatory reporting requirements. • Excellent financial acumen with the ability to interpret complex data sets. • Experience using various financial software tools for efficient accounting operations. • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks performed. • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
