Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various accounting practices, and will be responsible for supporting the finance department, including processing transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, assisting with month-end close, and supporting audits while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Duties
• Perform daily accounting tasks, including managing accounts payable and receivable, recording journal entries, and completing bank reconciliations.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Assist in preparing financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Process employee expense reports, manage weekly check runs, and reconcile corporate credit card statements.
• Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts regularly.
• Contribute to the development of budgets and conduct variance analysis as needed.
• Support audit processes by preparing required schedules and compiling supporting documentation.
• Handle intercompany transactions, including processing and reconciling payments and balances.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and provide financial insights.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting standards.
• Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in a MAS500 or similar ERP environment is strongly preferred.
• Background in steel processing or the automotive industry is a plus.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
