Job Description

About Actabl

Launched in 2022, Actabl is an emerging SaaS platform that combines hospitality business and labor intelligence with a comprehensive operations suite. We give hoteliers insights to know what to do, the tools to do it, and the visibility to know it worked. We’re on a mission to scale hospitality’s warmth through intelligent operations, and we're building a platform that combines insights and operations to create a living playbook for hoteliers that sets a new standard for hotel operations.

We’re a company enjoying accelerated growth. And we’re in the process of merging four highly successful brands (each with between 10 - 35 years of operations) into a single, comprehensive company. With that comes the opportunity to completely re-think our operations, and rather than working incrementally, we’re building operations so that they are world-class from the beginning.

Our world-class team includes some of the best professionals in the industry, backed by a team that is remote first but never far from one another. We’re deliberate about defining our culture and leveraging it to get results. Together, we’re building a great place to work.

That’s where you come in.

We are hiring a Senior Director of People to build an industry-recognized culture by leading a People team that attracts and retains exceptional talent.  In this role, you would:

  • Serve as a key support to exec team in creating and fostering a culture where A+ talent wants to work.
  • Realize Actabl’s vision of “better together” by forming distinctly new Actabl culture that honors historical legacy while also entering a new chapter of company growth.
  • Effectively lead HR including, but not limited to, onboarding, offboarding, benefits, learning and development, employee relations, compliance, and payroll.

Your Responsibilities

As the senior most people leader at Actabl, you will need to:

  • Be the go-to partner for executive team when it comes to culture, talent, and people/HR strategy.  Exec team members are constantly processing ideas with the Senior Director of People on a planned and impromptu basis.
  • Build a Strong, Unified Actabl Culture and help leadership navigate cultural transition of legacy entities to Actabl.
  • Consolidate Benefits and Technology Systems that ultimately improves employee benefits and effectively uses consolidated technology systems for benefits, payroll, culture, management, etc.
  • Develop a highly effective recruiting and development engine that attracts and retains exceptional talent.
  • Support HR Policies and Procedures by standardizing existing HR policies and procedures into new platform that applies across Actabl.
  • Effectively manage a world-class team by creating a high-trust and high-accountability environment.
  • Exemplify Actabl’s values-based culture by consistently upholding outstanding values and character that positively affects and influence all stakeholders.

Your Attributes

  • Empathetic – You see your role primarily as one of service that seeks to understand and support.
  • A+ communicator – You believe in keeping all of your stakeholders in the loop and know that multiple mediums of communication are the key to success; you cut through ambiguity and complexity to deliver on-target, compelling messages to prospects at all stages of the cycle.
  • Action-oriented – You thrive on a lean, fast-paced team, you won’t sit around and wait for someone else to do it, and you enjoy testing new tactics with a ‘let’s try it’ attitude.
  • Hands on – We have an amazing team and we are scrappy. You’ll be getting content, decks, ideas, and new materials off the ground.
  • Creative – Our team is full of exceptional talent that is adapting to a new normal of working that is both remote-first and global.  You will be responsible for setting the bar when it comes to creating a highly engaged remote workforce.
  • Builder – Over time, you’ll help build out our people and culture playbook that effectively scales as we grow.

Your Experience

  • Managed significant a merger/add-on between two or more companies.
  • Proven track record of developing and upholding an exceptional company culture.
  • Strong background in HR compliance across all areas of the employee lifecycle including but not limited to: recruiting, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, leaves of absence, immigration and offboarding.
  • Experience navigating ambiguous situations in a compliant, confidential and caring manner that takes both the business and employee into account to mitigate overall risk.
  • Experience developing and overseeing effective performance management, engagement and retention strategies that identify and retain talent.
  • Experience working directly with C-Suite.
  • Understanding of multiple stakeholders of private equity.
  • Worked with strategic and financial inputs.

Other Information

  • Location: Fully remote w/ some travel responsibilities (for prospect visits, conferences, occasional company get-togethers, etc.).
  • Base Salary Range: The target base salary range for this position is ($150,000 - $ 200,000), and is part of a competitive total rewards package including an annual bonus, employer-paid benefits, L&D stipend and incentive pay for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
  • Other Benefits: 401k matching, medical, dental and vision healthcare coverage, FSA, competitive DTO policy, sick days, and holidays.
  • People First mindset: The guiding principle of our and Alpine’s mentality is that the key to success is working with, learning from, and developing exceptional people.
