Your Role

Calculating and holding appropriate reserves and projecting future cash flows is crucial to Genworth's ability to ensure it will be able to pay benefits to our policyholders when they need them the most, now and in the future. This role supports the actuarial department primarily by performing financial projections for the variable annuity blocks. As an actuarial analyst, you will be responsible for performing tasks to calculate the block's reserves, being involved in key projection processes, participating in and supporting the variable annuity leader in other capacities.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Perform the preparation and analysis of projection results in a controlled environment, including CFT, MYP, and other ad-hoc tasks.
  • Prepare summaries of results and explanations around the drivers of business results.
  • Assist in testing of model and process updates, following established governance standards
  • Support other initiatives and process improvements; including new regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and financial reporting controls.

Must Have/What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial mathematics or finance.
  • Good progress in actuarial exams
  • 0-2 years of actuarial experience
  • Knowledge of MS-Office software
  • Familiar with insurance or annuity products
  • Familiar with GAAP, Statutory, and Tax financial reporting requirements
  • Familiar with modeling concepts or actuarial systems (AXIS or ALFA)
  • Team player and demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities in an organized manner
  • Detail-oriented and hands-on, with strong problem solving and analytical skills
