Acute Care Surgeon

Luminis Health is looking for a surgeon to join our busy emergency general surgery service which provides 24/7 coverage to Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis and Doctor’s Community Medical Center in Lanham.

Anne Arundel Medical Center is a growing medical center with a dedication to patient centered care and the local community. Annapolis is a beautiful community on the Chesapeake Bay, which serves as the state’s capital. It is located a short 30 min drive from Washington DC and Baltimore, with all the important amenities available locally.  

Doctor’s Community Medical Center is located in Lanham, Maryland and has received multiple awards for its commitment to care for the residents of Prince George’s County. It is located just outside of the capital beltway and is close to all of the major amenities of Washington DC.

The Department of Surgery at Anne Arundel Health System is seeking to add to our Acute

Care Surgery team for both Anne Arundel Medical Center and Doctors Community Hospital.

Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD

• High-volume emergency general surgery service
• 385 bed hospital

Doctor’s Community Hospital in Lanham, MD

• 210 bed hospital

Responsibilities include:

• Providing 24-hour coverage to both hospitals with regular resident coverage (All members of the ACS team with be working at both locations)
• Teaching residents and other learners

Requirements include:

• Board certification/board eligible in general surgery (Graduate fellows are welcome to apply)
• Strong clinical background
• Additional focusing on clinical research and quality/outcome improvement is preferred
• Being comfortable with all common general surgery procedures, experience in wound care or endoscopy is a plus
• EPIC experience a plus
• Some elective general surgery may be available in the future
