Position Type: Administrative and Central Office Office Title/Functional Title: Administrative Workforce Reporting Analyst, OCCCS - 25508 Civil Service Title: Confidential Investigator Level: L2 Division/Office: Division of Human Resources Borough: Brooklyn Posting End Date: 07/21/2025 Description: Position Summary:The Division of Human Resources (DHR) supports the human resources strategy of NYC Public Schools (NYCPS). Under general supervision, with wide latitude for independent action and decision, the Administrative Workforce Reporting Analyst provides data, research and analytical support for OCCCSwith an emphasis on civil service compliance. The Analyst collects, manages, and analyzes data necessary for the successful management of NYCPS administrative staff that supports the delivery of education and class size reduction initiatives.Performs related work. Reports to:Director, Administrative Workforce Analytics Direct Reports:N/A Key Relationships:OCCCS staff, Human Resource Directors, Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS). Responsibilities β€’ Prepares reports regarding the administrative employee population as requested by NYCPS Office of Legal Services as well as NYC’s Office of Labor Relations. β€’ Performs analyses to determine impact of Civil Service lists on the H-Bank population, including identifying provisional employees in affected titles. β€’ Analyzes and evaluates data from DCAS to identify/analyze potential use of civil service list including analysis of no cost actions, potential appoint and transfers, etc. β€’ Communicates with DCAS to attain preliminary raw filer data to focus recruitment efforts on exam filers when hiring provisionally. β€’ Prepares responses to FOIL data requests in regard to the administrative employee population. β€’ Responds to requests for title specific demographic data in relation to exam development. May assist in providing logistical support as well as liaising with DCAS in regard to exam development. β€’ Prepares and analyzes reports that support initiatives to address underutilization. β€’ Assists in creation and maintenance of a comprehensive database of employees eligible for Civil Service exams to support HR Directors in finding a path to permanent Civil Service status for NYCPS employees. β€’ Maintains a database of administrative staffing historical data and for analysis of administrative population trends. β€’ Designs and runs both ad hoc and regular reports and PeopleSoft queries to meet a variety of OCCCS needs. β€’ Participates in management of the Galaxy P# system. β€’ Utilizes and becomes proficient in various systems such as NYCAPS, Galaxy, APRL, PRISE and LRS. β€’ Keeps up-to-date on current technology being used by NYCPS. Attends trainings to ensure that skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in the position. Qualification Requirements: Minimum 1. A four- year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory full-time experience in an industrial or governmental agency in the field of investigation, auditing, law enforcement, security, inspections, or in a major operational area of the agency in which the appointment is to be made; or 2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college; or 3. Education and/or experience equivalent to β€œ1” or β€œ2” above. Plus β€’ Excellent analytical skills and experience gathering, analyzing and interpreting data. Preferred β€’ Baccalaureate or Master’s Degree in a STEM field. β€’ Expert with Microsoft Excel; highly proficient or expert with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Access, including the design of complex reports and queries. β€’ Detail oriented; ability to produce high quality content on a strict deadline. β€’ Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely. β€’ Ability to work independently, to effectively multi-task, and to demonstrate flexibility and high levels of initiative. Salary: $59,095 - $70,105 (Internal candidates who are selected for this position and who currently hold comparable or less senior positions within the DOE will not earn less than their current salary.)
