AEROSPACE CERTIFIED D17.1 REQUIRED
Perform manual Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), semi-automatic and automatic welding of various metals and or their alloys for aircraft assemblies to fabricate, assemble, rework, repair production flight hardware, or modify experimental flight hardware. Routine welding machine and or parameter adjustments are required to compensate for variations in thickness, dissimilar joint thicknesses, equipment anomalies, joint and or part configuration, etc. Select electrodes, gas cups, weld current, arc voltage, travel speed, gas flow, wire size,feed rate per the weld schedule or other furnished information, and accomplish seam tracking as required. Demonstrate welding proficiency, and subjected to, but not limited to qualifying in Titanium, Aluminum, Stainless and Inconel in 6G positions, and in the 2F positions for the same materials, additional qualification may be required for new assemblies or different departments covered by W4409 Welders. Support additional departments to prioritize the sequencing of welding operations to allow maximum accessibility in order to effectively meet the engineering requirements for the final assembly. Must be able to work from prints, plans, specifications, verbal or written information. Ability to interpret and apply American Welding Society (AWS) and Boeing Specification weld symbology per drawing or plan. Utilize Boeing Specifications to ensure quality is met per engineering requirements. Maintain certifications through compliance processes to meet quarterly quality requirements, licenses or permits as required to perform work assignment. Demonstrate the ability to continuously weld flight hardware using positioners, designated welding equipment for semi or automatic welding applications, perform self-inspection on welds using internal or external specifications for required acceptance criteria designated by engineering. All production welds must pass visual inspections and according to engineering designation may require additional NDE methods i.e. metallographic, fluorescent penetrant, and or radiography. Be able to set up and operate manual welding in atmospheric chamber, and have the ability to use inert gas shielding trailers. Inspect and request welding equipment repairs when required to maintain equipment and systems are in a safe operating condition. Communicate ideas related to continuous quality, process, or safety improvements to team members and management. Ability to adapt to different weld cell locations throughout the factory that utilize different alloys and welding hardware as needed.
Minimum Experience:
•Manual GTAW with Aerospace Experience: 3yrs
Or
•Manual GTAW without Aerospace Experience: 5yrs
Or
Welding Degree from accredited School + Aerospace or GTAW Experience: 4yrs
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills):
• Basic computer skills and 1+ years of Microsoft office and office computing systems• Fluent in both verbal and written English• Capable of lifting 35lbs on a regular basis

Pay: $39.00 - $40.00 per hour
