Alongside our global campuses we also collaborate with talented contractors and freelancers from all over the world to help us achieve our crazy big goals.

This role is a 12-month engagement working full-time hours per week.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start but this will likely evolve.

At the moment this role is focused on:

• Generating AI audio that ships — music SFX and voice — with quality clarity and compliance at pace.

• Refining prompts and presets managing evaluation sets and aligning to style guides and guardrails.

• Building ingest-ready workflows (naming metadata rights QA rollback) with Ingest and Templates teams.

• Supporting discoverability through clear naming tagging and taxonomy design.

• Analysing data and feedback to improve audio quality diversity and effectiveness.

• Publishing reusable docs and playbooks to help others scale their workflows with confidence.

• Escalating any safety rights or consent concerns to appropriate teams with context and clarity.

You're probably a match if

• You’ve built and shipped large volumes of music SFX or voice content — and know what good sounds like.

• You have deep experience in DAWs and post-production (fades trims loops mix balance) and love detail.

• You’ve worked with metadata file naming tagging or ingest before — and love getting content “delivery ready.”

• You’re excited about AI tooling — from prompt design and negative examples to quality rubrics and batch iteration.

• You know how to work fast from a brief give helpful feedback and keep things moving without needing a roadmap.

• You’re thoughtful about ethics consent and safety — and know how to escalate edge cases the right way.

About the team

This role sits in the AI Content Studio Team (AICS) a cross-functional team pioneering Canva’s creative AI capabilities. You’ll work closely with specialists across Templates Ingest Product Engineering and Licensing to deliver world-class generative audio content built for discovery safety and creative impact.
