Job purpose

BorgWarner DBS is seeking for a student to support, systems, analytics, and processes for the BU central purchasing team.

This position will assist with cost reduction (consolidation/tracking/reporting), master data management (new supplier creation process/data cleansing), purchasing systems (maintenance/access/implementation support/training support), onboarding of new company to existing systems, and others as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in data cleansing to support ongoing data management
• Identify the appropriate data sources, analytical methods and tools required for each analysis
• Develop documentation/instructions regarding datasets and analysis
• Assist in the daily activities of ad hoc analysis and reporting
• Validate and understand analysis
• Summarize results in professional presentations
• Support process and systems as needed
• Systems development and maintenance support (Qlik/Ivalua/SPS)
• Ivalua data cleansing
• Supplier Target support (Smart Targets)
• Understand the logic between systems and help on improvements
• Contact plants on data discrepancies/solutions
• Sharepoint page maintenance
• Other tasks as needed (org charts updates, event preparations, etc.)

What we're looking for

• The successful candidate will have problem solving and data management skills
• Computer Science or Business field (Marketing, Business Administration)
• Self-motivated with good time management skills and ability to work independently
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to learn new business and technical skills and develop creative approaches to solving difficult problems
• Ability to work within large teams and communicate effectively
• Must know Excel (pivot tables, v-look ups)
• Experience with data manipulation/consolidation
• Proficient in PowerPoint
