Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

(1): Responsible for coordinating and supporting organizational budgeting activities and conducting research and analysis to provide management with definitive data and advice for their use in setting and realizing profit objectives

(2): Responsible for reviewing potential capital expenditures or other major expenditure proposals and preparing required financial analysis to provide management with definitive data and advice for their use in deciding whether to approve such proposals.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Planning Responsibilities (as assigned):

Assists in preparation of company's annual reforecast and profit plan. Includes management and updating of Axiom software used in the planning process, assisting in preparation of plan kits (budget instructions), training new users, answering questions from plan preparers, reviewing and consolidating submitted plans, preparation of various analyses to aid senior management in reviewing results and coordinating loading of final profit plan amounts onto the general ledger. Assists in preparation/maintenance of company's long-term financial plan. (1)

Major Expenditure Proposals and Other Related Project Responsibilities (as assigned):

Prepares financial analysis section of Major Expenditure Proposals after discussing data with submitting group and reviewing major assumptions for reasonableness. Determines internal rate of return and estimated annual income statement impact for senior management review. (2)

Analyzes results of significant completed MEP's with current projections. Develop guidelines for review of future MEP assumptions. (2)

Prepares regulatory applications as requested for new banking centers, mergers and acquisitions, and other projects. (2)

Merger and Acquisition Analysis Responsibilities (as assigned):

Researches and performs merger and acquisition analysis, including projection of target's future performance and cash flow, calculation of projected return on investment, assessment of fit with stated corporate acquisition goals and current operations, and summarization of impact of possible acquisition for senior management review. (2)

Other Responsibilities (as assigned):

Assists in preparation of financial reports for Executive Committee Offsite materials book. (1)

Develops standard and ad hoc reports for business users using Axiom applications as well as distributes some of these reports electronically. (1)

Performs additional responsibilities as requested, including special nonrecurring projects for management. (1) (2)

Responsible for the completion of all compliance training related to the position. (1) (2)

Must understand all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and comply with the requirements. (1) (2)

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs all other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Two (2) to five (5) years of related experience preferred

Knowledge of financial analysis, modeling, systems and reporting preferred.

Basic knowledge of banking and accounting principles.

Good PC skills--proficiency in Word and Excel essential, understanding of PowerPoint and database software preferred.

Experience in Axiom budgeting software or related experience/capability to readily learn Axiom

Excellent math and analytical skills.

Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.

EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required. Masters in Finance preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel to all locations as well as ability to travel over night, as needed for meetings, projects, seminars, etc.
