Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY: The Analyst II - Data & Reporting, Transformation Portfolio Planning (TPP), is a critical member of the Transformation Management Office (TMO), responsible for supporting the efficient and effective management of Digital & Technology project portfolios through data analysis, reporting, and insights generation. This role involves leveraging data to drive informed decision-making, optimize project performance, and enhance overall portfolio management processes. The Analyst plays a pivotal role in facilitating informed decision-making within the organization by collecting, analyzing, and presenting data from various sources. This involves streamlining data collection methods through automation, managing information to support leadership's decision-making, and performing complex analyses to identify and interpret trends and patterns. This Team Member collaborates closely with organizational leadership to provide insightful reports, improve existing reporting systems, and offer consulting and analytic services, possessing strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capability to translate complex analyses into easily understandable formats for diverse stakeholders.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Analysis:

  • Utilize various data analysis techniques to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources, including project management tools, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Conduct thorough data validation and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of data used for reporting and analysis.
  • Perform trend analysis, identify patterns, and interpret data to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

Reporting and Data Visualization

  • Develop and maintain regular reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs), project status, resource utilization, and other relevant metrics.
  • Customize reporting formats and structures based on stakeholder requirements and preferences.
  • Automate report generation processes to streamline data dissemination and ensure timely delivery of insights.
  • Create visually engaging and easy-to-understand data visualizations, such as charts, graphs, and infographics, to communicate complex information effectively.
  • Translate data insights into compelling narratives and presentations for various audiences, including senior leadership and project teams.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and leaders to gather data requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, fostering collaboration and driving consensus on portfolio management strategies.

Portfolio Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of project portfolios against established objectives, targets, and benchmarks.
  • Identify areas of improvement and potential risks through performance analysis and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to review portfolio performance data and provide recommendations for optimizing resource allocation and project prioritization.

Process Improvement

  • Continuously assess and enhance portfolio management processes and methodologies based on data-driven insights and industry best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes, enhance data collection methods, and improve overall efficiency of the TMO.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or higher required in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field; Data Analytics or Data Science certifications preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Portfolio Management, Project Management, or related fields is preferred.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and PMO frameworks is desirable.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Project Portfolio Management (PPM) software and software development lifecycle (SDLC) software, Jira/Atlassian suite, and Smartsheet preferred.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and data visualization techniques.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, SQL, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven oral, written, and business presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated success at building team relationships and partnerships across organizational lines.
  • Self-motivated & accountable, with a high level of commitment to responsibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to work across multiple groups.
  • Schedule flexibility is needed to meet time zone needs.
