Analytics Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to join our team. We are a startup environment and as such, this role will be responsible for supporting our reporting needs across multiple departments. This includes Marketing, Operations, Merchandising, HR, Customer Service, and Finance. As an Analytics Engineer, you will work with these teams to understand their data needs and translate them into SQL queries, dbt models, reports, dashboards, and visualizations that provide actionable insights. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our business stakeholders have access to accurate and timely data to support their decision-making.

Analytics Engineers at Kaiyo are “full-stack”. You will touch all parts of the data pipeline, including data integrations, data modeling and testing, dashboarding, data quality assurance, and data analysis. 

Our office is based in New York City in the Flatiron district, but we support a hybrid model where you can either work at our office or from home. We cannot consider candidates outside the United States at this time.

• Collaborate with internal business teams to understand their reporting needs and create dbt models, dashboards, and visualizations addressing those needs.
• Collaborate with the software engineering and product teams to ensure measurement and understanding of new product and feature launches.
• Design well-tested dbt models that integrate with existing modeling structure to ensure metric parity across the reporting stack.
• Contribute to frequent data repair and QA efforts to maintain a high-quality data standard at Kaiyo.
• As needed, analyze data to help business stakeholders understand new problems and situations.
• Actively consolidate reporting to help streamline stakeholder operations.

• 4+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering or Data Analysis
• Strong experience with SQL and dbt
• Experience with python/pandas/Jupyter notebook is preferred
• Ability to communicate between technical and non-technical users
• Experience with ETL tools (Fivetran / Stitch) is a plus
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office; specifically Excel is preferred
• Proactive, collaborative individual who takes initiative, works effectively within a team, and has a keen eye for anticipating potential issues.
• Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
• Experience with Redash and/or Metabase is a plus but not required
