Job Description

The Global API COE Lead will be responsible for partnering closely with CIO's, COO's, Line of Business Product Owners, Enterprise Architecture Leadership and Program Executives developing and/or enhancing the global API foundation. One key outcome is to improve the quality, consistency, and adoption speed for API's internally and externally . The solution space includes, but is not limited to:

Enterprise API Ecosystem - Delivering an E2E API ecosystem that supports the the standardization of building, testing, publishing, discovering, consumption, production support and metrics reporting for API's internally and externally.

  • Standardizing the External API Developer Portal / Catalog.
  • Defining how API's themselves will be coded and described (some refactoring needed for internal API's to support external use cases).
  • Accommodating API discovery/search internally and externally.
  • Defining sandbox testing process and standards.
  • Defining and implementing workflow for onboarding external partners/developers.
  • Defining and implementing technical support process for external developers/partners requesting integrated testing access and production implementation tokens.
  • The platform will be built/configured with long-term sustainability and supportability in mind with administrative screens, configuration settings, and reports that provide transparent views of operating health and mechanics.

Policies & Development Standards as Code - Codifying IT policies and standards through integration, automation, rules, monitoring/reporting and notifications improving alignment to standards, reducing dependency on manual reviews and removing friction from the process enhancing productivity.

The lead must maintain positive constructive partnerships with related:

  • Project sponsors.
  • Broker/Partner technical and operational resources wanting to establish API connectivity with AIG.
  • SCUP Global Capability Tower Leads (Foundation, Submissions, Rating, Policy and Forms).
  • Horizontal IT partners including architecture, info security, DevOps, data, infrastructure, controls and procurement.
  • AIG System Integrators.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 20+ years of experience supporting E2E design, development, delivery in the financial services sector with API lifecycle management experience.
  • Hands on integration development experience using industry standard tools and patterns.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally tailoring message to the audience (business partners, product owners, developers, testers, scrum masters up through CIO's and COO's).
  • Successful track record leading development for large IT programs at speed with quality.
  • Bachelor's Degree in CIS or related field.
