Application Consultant

IBM Application Consultants work directly with our clients on key initiatives. You will have the opportunity to build an in-depth understanding of their business issues and implement organizational strategies that drive adoption of change. Your Role and Responsibilities

As an Application Consultant you will serve as a client-facing practitioner who sells leads and implements expert services utilizing the breadth of IBM’s offerings and technologies. A successful Consultant is regarded by clients as a trusted business advisor who collaborates to provide innovative solutions used to solve the most challenging business problems.

You will work developing solutions that excel at user experience style performance reliability and scalability to reduce costs and improve profit and shareholder value.

In IBM Consulting you’ll serve as a leader in defining solutions for clients. You’ll be the advocate for the client while guiding the technical team to implementation.

You’ll collaborate with client stakeholders and internal partners to understand the business problem and requirements constraints of the system and concerns of the various stakeholders to systematically transform detailed solutions (architectures) for the client.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
People Leadership:
Strong skills in people management and technical team leadership. Responsibility for a large team of Engineers with strong emphasis on upskilling and empowering the team. Includes mentoring and coaching of both junior and senior developers supporting their career progression and ambitions to progress to tech leadership roles and focussing on those underperforming through coaching.

Core Skills:
Has in depth experience of cloud engineering application engineering and AI strategy with strong potential in system architecture and tech strategy. Experienced in leading end-to-end client engagements from initial consultation and requirements gathering to final deployment and support. Has the Government Industry silver badge AWS Developer Associate certification and AI Certification and has completed the Architectural Thinking foundation training
