Maintains the database code environment to insure data integrity for applications, insure database availability, and verify data loads. This individual will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line's core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following key duties:

  • Performs database performance monitoring and tuning
  • Knowledge of performance baselines
  • Experience with using SQL, SQL Cloud, MongoDB, Server Extended Events Monitoring
  • Designs and implements logical and physical databases that are complex in nature
  • Provides operational support for databases
  • Evaluates database technologies and product releases to develop long term strategy for system processing improvements and system compatibility with database platforms.
  • Designs and implements procedures that ensure the security and integrity of the company database
  • Knowledge in Windows OS
  • Knowledge and has written queries using TSQL
  • Understanding of core database architecture and concepts
  • Knowledge of common database concurrency issues and solutions
  • Knowledge of IaC(Infrastructure as Code)
  • Knowledge of Jira and agile methodologies
  • Base knowledge of python

Required Education and/or Experience

Total of 2-3 years prior experience as a SQL Server DBA with performance

troubleshooting skills. Experience with multiple database SQL Server versions and monitoring is required. Experience as an Application/System DBA supporting third party applications is desired.

Required Computer and/or Technical Skills

Windows (Intermediate) - 2-3 years

System Life Cycle Methodology (Intermediate) - 2-3 years

Change Control (beginner) - 1-2 years

Installation, configuration and upgrading of Database server software and related products

Experienced in Database implementation

Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)

Work as part of a team and provide 24×7 support as needed

Perform technical troubleshooting and give consultation to development teams

Perform database performance improvement
