Application Developer

Marcus & Millichap, Inc. is looking for a Application Developer with proven design and development skills to join a small, highly motivated team. The right developer will turn business requirements into applications that delight our business partners. They will collaborate with their team as well as others inside and outside IT to deliver new capabilities that move our business forward.

Essential Functions:

• Develop web applications using standard software design patterns and best practices
• Financial systems experience (SAP or other) is highly desired.
• Experience integrating with third party and internal services
• Develop new web applications as well as maintaining existing applications.
• Implement high quality and maintainable code
• Translate business requirements into development strategies
• Work with business users to clarify requirements
• Test and debug applications
• Coordinate with other team members to build/deploy code
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using software development best practices
• Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices
• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
• Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
• Create and maintain software documentation
• Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our applications
• Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to match visual design intent
• Develop applications with minimal guidance
• Ability to lead development for small projects or features.
• Mentor other developers in their technical development.

•  5+ years .NET Framework and .Net Core, C#,ASP.NET, Javascript frameworks, jQuery, CSS
• MS SQL Server experience (2012 and newer) using Entity Framework
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent education and experience
• Hands on experience in OOP concepts, multi-threading, and asynchronous processing
• Experience with application design patterns
• HTML/XML
• Web Services: REST, GraphQL
• Agile development practices including the Scrum framework
• Team Foundation Services and Git
• Test driven development experience a plus
• Clear, concise, well commented coding practices
• Strong work ethic requiring minimal supervision required,
• A sense of curiosity
• Good communication skills
• Additional skills that will help you stand out of the crowd: LINQ, Entity Framework, IIS Configuration, Windows Permission
