Join us as a Application Development Manager
Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting for Application Development Manager to join our Corporate Solutions. In this role you will be Technical Manager and will lead a team of developers to deliver enterprise solutions in the Document Management space for all supported lines of business including Private Banking, Investment Management, and Investor Services. S/he is responsible for overall design of the new applications, as well as general health of the ones in production. S/he is also responsible in managing all deliverables whether business or technical, and ensuring that they get rolled out in a timely manner.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with Business Users to understand the requirements inside out - in both the letter and spirit
- Analyze new requirements and generate required Systems Analysis and documentation including Entity Relationship Diagrams, UML Diagrams, Business Process Notation for Workflows etc.
- Design complete end-to-end solutions that meet user requirements
- Work with Technology teams to understand project dependencies, resourcing, and technical challenges
- Establish and control project scope and schedule baselines and manage changes to the baselines in a transparent and controlled manner
- Manage risks and issues that affect project scope, schedule and quality for all projects assigned
- Manage cross-team communications and coordinate work between different teams at global locations
- Continually work towards making improvements in the Project Management process
- Gain a deep understanding of all supported applications
- Maintain a comprehensive Book of Work for all Corporate Solutions applications
- Manage application data in App Portfolio, Data Lineage & CDEs, ensuring timeliness & accuracy
- Follow Change Management & Release Management processes for all releases in Corporate Solutions
- Coordinate SIT testing, UAT sign offs and PROD rollouts for all apps in Corporate Solutions
- Ensure all systems run without a glitch by providing technical solutions to recurring production issues
Qualifications:
Education Level and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent work experience.
- 10 to 12 years of work experience with skills listed below
- 5+ years' experience building applications with Java 8 and above
- 5+ years' experience designing applications using Oracle 12c and above
- 5+ years' experience building Enterprise Java applications, REST API and Database Design
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a deeply technical role in a financial services firm, or in a product development or professional services organization in a technology company that serves the financial service market
- Nice to have - experience implementing Document Management applications using commercial products such as WebCenter Content, Documentum, OpenText, FileNet etc.

- Experience in both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies

BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $95,000 to $130,000, which is specific to Jersey City, NJ and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
