About the Role

As a Backend Developer in Riskified’s Applications group, you’ll join an innovative and fast-growing team operating in a true Agile environment. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies, you'll play a key role in building generic services and infrastructure libraries that support Riskified’s fraud management products, benefiting both our clients and internal teams. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-quality backend solutions, delivered as infrastructure libraries or services, which directly enhance product development velocity and quality across the organization

What You'll Be Doing

• Developing generic services and infrastructure libraries that expand Riskified’s ecosystem and contribute to the daily impact on the business.
• Taking full ownership of your work, from feature planning with Product and Design teams to technology selection, code and architecture design, development, and deployment in a CI/CD environment.
• Monitoring deployments post-launch to ensure reliability and performance.
• Collaborating on end-to-end projects, whether writing backend business logic or optimizing servers and infrastructure for scalability.
• Working with a modern tech stack, including Scala, Cats Effect, AWS, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Postgres, Elasticsearch, Aerospike, Snowflake, Airflow, Grafana, ArgoCD, and more.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent
• Over 5 years of demonstrated hands-on experience in server-side coding
• 4+ years of experience with Scala or equivalent knowledge in Kotlin/Haskell/Rust
• Familiar with microservice architecture, k8s as well as data-related tools like Databricks, Spark and Kafka
• Proficient in database technologies (SQL/NoSQL)
• Familiarity with stream applications is advantageous
• An autodidactic approach to software development
• A team player with strong communication skills, but also capable of working independently
